From Rebrand to Radiance: The Timeless Elegance of Moelle Essentials - Bellafricana

From Rebrand to Radiance: The Timeless Elegance of Moelle Essentials

How Doyinsola Ogbeifun is redefining occasion wear with a focus on fit, femininity, and confidence

When you meet Doyinsola Ogbeifun, founder of Moelle Essentials, there’s an instant calm that draws you in, the kind that comes from someone who understands grace, structure, and the quiet power of confidence.

Her journey into fashion wasn’t a loud or impulsive one. It was built over time, shaped by observation, curiosity, and an ever-present desire to create clothes that make women feel as good as they look.

A Pause, A Rebirth

Moelle Essentials first came to life in 2018, born from Doyinsola’s vision to design elegant, well-fitted pieces for women of all shapes and sizes. But as with most creative journeys, there was a moment of pause — a three-year break that became a period of reflection and rediscovery.

In 2022, Moelle Essentials returned rebranded, refocused, and ready to redefine occasion wear.

The brand found its rhythm again, this time with a clearer purpose: to celebrate diverse body types through elegant, accessible designs that don’t compromise on quality or comfort.

Fashion That Fits Every Woman

Walk into Moelle Essentials’ world, and you’ll find pieces that speak of balance, classic yet modern, bold yet feminine. From flowing dresses that move like poetry to structured fits that celebrate the body’s natural silhouette, every design is made to make women stand tall.

Whether you’re petite, curvy, or tall, Moelle offers both ready-to-wear (RTW) and made-to-measure pieces. The goal? To eliminate the struggle of finding occasionwear that truly fits.

As Doyinsola puts it,

“Elegance should never be a privilege. It should be accessible — and it should fit.”

The Moelle Woman

The Moelle woman knows her worth. She loves sophistication without shouting it. She values quality but also seeks versatility. And above all, she wears her confidence like her favourite dress effortlessly.

Every piece by Moelle Essentials is designed with that woman in mind. From the first sketch to the final stitch, Doyinsola ensures that comfort, style, and precision go hand-in-hand.

Redefining Occasionwear

Moelle Essentials has carved a niche in occasionwear, reimagining what it means to dress up. It’s not just about sequins or silhouettes; it’s about emotion. The feeling of slipping into a dress that fits perfectly. The quiet excitement of looking in the mirror and saying, Yes, this is me.

With elegant fabrics, timeless cuts, and detail-oriented craftsmanship, Moelle’s creations are meant to stay in your wardrobe, and your memory for years to come.

The Future of Moelle

As Moelle Essentials continues to grow, one thing remains clear: the brand isn’t chasing trends — it’s setting a standard.

It’s about creating clothes that tell stories of women who rise, reinvent, and walk into every room like it was designed for them.

And in that story, Moelle Essentials isn’t just making dresses. It’s making statements — one confident woman at a time.

Creative Leather Brands in Nigeria At The Lagos Leather Fair Event

The Lagos Leather Fair 2019 has come and gone but not without showing us some incredible leather works by brands in Nigeria. The event with theme ‘Advancing The Conversation’ took place on the 7th and 8th of September at the Harbour Point, V.I. Lagos.

Though the event was for two days only, the organizers did not fall short of their promise, which is to promote the Nigerian leather industry. The event brought together leather brands from different parts of Nigeria, as well as provided an enabling environment for lovers of creative indigenous brands to shop and learn a few things from experts in the industry.

In other words, the event was amazing, well put together by the organizers and we look forward to the next edition. Oh! Just in case you weren’t there, you missed. Check out some pictures with Bellafricana Verified members.

Wondering where I am? LOL

I am somewhere in there in green print. Let me know when you spot me!

That said, I would like to shed light on some of the amazing leather works I came while across at the fair. Why is this of any importance? Well, before now, the Nigerian leather industry did not receive the accolades it deserved, simply because most consumers did not trust the quality of these brands.

Now, I am here to say, the leather train in Nigeria has moved and creatives in this industry are doing some amazing things. You still don’t believe? Let me show you some.

Ethnik by Tunde Owolabi;

Fashion Tips For Women

I believe you have heard the phrase ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ and you probably believed it.

Well, that’s good but not in fashion. In the book of fashionistas, you must never be caught unfresh i.e not looking your best, because truth be told, everyone judges a book by it’s cover. Even you, lol!

Hold on, before you start thinking ‘Thank God I am not a fashionista’, allow me to remind you that no one is born fashionable but the desire to look good is within. At this point you are wondering the purpose of this long sermon, right? Ok, I will cut the chase.

I am here to give some fashion tips that will help you stand out at meetings, events, work, in fact, any where. Are you ready?

Organise  Your Closet

Start from the beginning, by this I mean things you have in your closet, which include your dresses, shoes, accessories and the likes. Take a moment to go through everything you own, decide on those to keep, sell or give away and do so accordingly. By doing this, you take note of what you have, what you need and how to match them. Before you rush on to the next thing, make sure to keep your items where you can assess them easily, use racks, shelves, boxes etc.

Find A Good Designers

Making your own clothes saves you some extra cash and still have you looking dope! Of course I realise that you might not be a fashion designer and that is ok, but, you can get yourself a good designer, who you work with to create amazing designs that suit your body frame. Some designers that can help you achieve this include; Eyiyemi Olivia of EoNL and more.

Invest In Timeless Pieces

There will always be a new fashion item to get. That said, do not carried away with all this, rather invest in things that are timeless, which means, regardless of when you wear them, they remain relevant and are not seasonal. examples of timeless pieces are,

Don’t Forget Your Accessories

They might be little but they go a long way in transforming your entire look. Imagine dressing up for a meeting without your ear rings, the look on your face in that moment of realisation is enough to explain the strength of accessories. My point is, don’t forget to spice up your outfits no matter how simple with an accessory. Accessories vary, no need to limit yourself to just ear rings, here are few accessories to transform your look;

Introducing Adire Lounge Aro-Ewa Collection

You’ve probably heard it before ‘ out with the old, in with the new’. But at Adire lounge we’ve found a perfect blend for both the old and the new to have congruence, hence the Aro- Ewa collection.

The collection is borne out of the belief that being ancient in spirit, yet modern in expression is the perfect scenario to remain consistent and relevant in our ever changing world of sustainable fashion.

Aro Ewa simply translated as ‘Dyed Beauty’is the recreation of contemporary patterns; employing old age historical techniques, coupled with the rich indigo dye, reminiscent of African indigenous designs, in order to celebrate our old Adire heritage.

At the heart of the collection, ensuring sustainability of the fashion value chain is paramount; from farmer to designer, the use of cotton fabric grown and milled in Nigeria, and our collaboration with other creatives in the industry like Denike online, Henri Uduku and Busayo Longe attests to our commitment to showcasing our brand ethos of ‘Made in Nigeria’.

By this, we believe our existence as an indigenous premium brand would contribute greatly in reviving the local manufacturing sector; modernizing the art of textile design, while inspiring more people to embrace original African fashion that have history and art infused within them as wearable pieces.

The Asooke Inspired Brands You Should Know

Aso Oke is a short form of Aso Ilu Oke also known as Aso-Ofi meaning clothes from the up-country. It is the traditional wear of the Yoruba’s (the tribe of the southwest people in Nigeria, Africa).

The Yoruba’s are the second largest tribe in Nigeria after the Northerners. Aso Oke is a popular cloth that is worn on special occasions by the Yoruba’s usually for chieftancy, festivals, engagement, naming ceremony and other important events.

It is said that “the beauty of Aso-Oke comes out more when it is taken as Aso-Ebi (group of people e.g. friends, families e.t.c)”, however Bellafricana verified members through their creativity have changed the narrative and are showing the beauty of Aso-Oke in interior decorations, fashion, shoes, bags and many more. You should click here to read the culled history written.

NEPC cannot do it alone, we are the export we seek

Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) truly cannot do it alone, we are the export we seek.

I always hear of small businesses wanting to start exporting.

Interestingly, some are yet to even grow capacity enough to serve Ibadan not to talk of Lagos, then Nigeria, then Intra-trade and International trade.

I mean, I get it and in fact it’s the right thing to have the end goal in mind or have a bigger market in mind.

Yes, even here at Bellafricana our dream is that one day, every one of our verified members will be selling to consumers globally, but realistically we also say let’s start with more consumers locally and then grow a sustainable brand with global demands.

However, have you ever thought to think that you are the export you seek (wait I am getting somewhere, don’t rush off, keep reading).

When you are travelling out of the country, do you load your box with proudly Made in Nigeria attires, accessories etc asides your food gifts??

Or am I reaching too high? Ok ask yourself this: you Nigerian business owner, footwear brand owner, etc do you patronize other fashion, accessories, lifestyle… brand owners? .

When last did you consciously decide to wear Nigerian?

I am not talking about the buyers here for now, I am talking about you growing a business locally in Nigeria, producing locally etc.

You say you want to make more sales, are you supporting your fellow MSME?

You say NEPC should help you, you want to export because they have a mandate for non oil export?
Do you realise the number of people unrealistically waiting for NEPC??

I always and will always say, at Bellafricana we don’t believe in waiting for the government, we believe in creating ideas that will improve the economy

Then you will see our leaders or MDs travelling out of Nigeria for various reasons suited up, what happened to our proudly Made/sewn in Nigeria attires please?? .

That’s why I respect Mr Olusegun Awolowo a lot, he genuinely wears Nigerian made and I have seen him personally buy from SMEs even if they are willing to dash him their products. As the CEO of NEPC, no not really, he doesn’t have to wear Nigerian attires, but he chooses to.

So today, as a champion of quality creative Indigenous businesses, I challenge you to remember that WE ARE THE EXPORT WE SEEK.

Dear producer, buy from other brands as much as you want to be bought from,

Dear consumers, patronize more Indigenous brands just because you are a #Bellafricanafamily.

Here are some attires and products to buy for your next trip (click image to go to business page);

A Made in Nigeria Chair that gives Inspiration – Ile Ila

Have you ever heard this popular saying by Shirley Chisholm that says “If they don’t give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair”?

Well I say, scratch the folding chair, bring an Ile ila chair, a proudly made in Nigeria chair that gives inspiration.

A wise man once said, ideas rule the world (Sam Adeyemi), and I couldn’t agree more.

Without ideas, you cannot create solutions to problems, you cannot even call yourself a creative, talk less an entrepreneur or intrapreneur.

Well, if ideas truly rule the world, where do you get inspiration from?

Most times I personally like to take a break from my space, go for exhibition, stay cations, vacations….you might even agree that an idea can fall on you anywhere!

Even when in the shower, yes? but you have never heard of you getting ideas from a chair.. right?

So I am here to introduce to you a proudly made in Nigeria chair by ILE ILA.

Wooosh, trust me, you will soon want to own yours!

First click let’s start by meeting the amazingly talented bellafricana verified founder, Tosin Oshinowo…
